How I Designed My Colorful and Girly Dining Room
Our dining room is my favorite spot in our entire house. Every time I look over at it, it makes me happy. The space is such a great summary of my personal style: feminine, colorful, bright, airy, and a little vintage.
I started the room with wallpaper. I know not everyone is a fan of accent walls. However, I knew the dining room wall complete with 2 original windows was the perfect spot to highlight. I am a HUGE fan of Rifle Paper Company and had been dreaming of the day I would get to use their wallpaper in my home. When they released the City Maps print, I knew it was the one!
I balanced the lightness of the walls and wallpaper with dining chairs I painted black (they’re from Pottery Barn a few years ago that my aunt gifted me) and covered the cushions in Rifle Paper Co. fabric. With a few fun accessories and vintage pieces (the table and library catalog cabinet), the dining room came to life!
