Decorating for summer and summer holidays is one of my favorite things. With summer decorating, color, florals, and fun prints abound. Obviously, for Fourth of July, reds, whites, and blues, dominate, and this year, florals and nostalgic prints seem to be really popular for the July holiday decor. You can see some of my favorite party and home decor picks on a previous post.

It’s no surprise that I really enjoy making wreaths – they’re such a great way to add a pop of color to your porch and change with the seasons. My summer wreath leans into that Fourth of July nostalgia a little bit seen in some of my favorite party pieces from this year. To recreate this wreath for your own front door, follow the below easy steps.
1. Materials you’ll need:
– Grapevine wreath
– Ribbon (I used 2 widths)
– Floral or Wreath picks
– Small table decor to glue for decorations
– Hot Glue Gun
2. Start with your plain grapevine wreath. With the smaller ribbon, slowly weave the ribbon through the grapevine wreath at various points, hot gluing intermittently on the back for stability.
3. Using both your larger and smaller ribbons, create a bow for the bottom center of the wreath. Unfortunately, I am not a bow making expert, but I do normally use this method.
4. Before gluing your bow, add some small floral wreath picks with hot glue that will stick out behind your bow.
5. Hot glue your bow on top of the floral picks.
6. Take your small decor (I used styrofoam stars for mine) and place evenly throughout the wreath. Once happy with placement, hot glue in place.
7. Hang on your door and enjoy a pop of red, white, and blue!

For the perfect Fourth of July party, it’s all about layering and fun foods. For my table design, fun HomeGoods finds like the ketchup tray and bell pepper dish add a little quirkiness to the more traditional pieces like the Rifle Paper flag tray and my mom’s vintage tablecloth. Themed cupcakes, strawberries, and blueberries add to the table’s colors and provide yummy snacks.
The place settings are relatively simple. Barbecue food is messy after all, so a simple disposable plate dressed up with HomeGoods floral dessert plates and napkins adds the perfect themed touch.
