DIY Halloween Arch

Celebrate Halloween by making this fun DIY Halloween arch. With the ability to fully customize to your Halloween style, this can be as scary or sparkly (or both!) as you want!

This Halloween decor was inspired by the viral pumpkin arches you’ve probably seen all over TikTok and Instagram. Hopefully, I make one of those soon (planning on next year!), because I loooove them. In the meantime, I wanted to make something just as cute but a little cheaper.

I think an arch for Halloween, pumpkin or not, is a great way to add Halloween spirit to your front yard without being too scary. Plus, it’s super fun to walk under walking to the door - and trick-or-treaters love it!

This is a budget-friendly Halloween DIY. I started with a garden arch purchased from Amazon and covered with sticks I found in our neighborhood (I collected sticks for a few weeks while on walks; embarrassing but worth it). Spray painted everything black and then covered with lights and various cute decor items. You can use anything from the crafts store (wreath picks, ornaments, etc.) or anything you already have on hand!

What You’ll Need:

• Garden Arch

• Sticks!

• Grapevine Wreath

• Spray Paint

• Lights

• Various fun Halloween decor (ornaments, wreath picks, etc.)

Step 1

Set up your garden arch and cover with sticks. I used a mixture of zip ties, floral wire, and hot glue to secure sticks to the arch and to each other.

Cover with Sticks!

Step 2

Spray paint sticks color of your choice! I picked black to make my more neon decorations really stand out.

Step 3

Unwrap and spray paint your grapevine wreath and wrap around arch. This adds some thorny (thinking Maleficent here) and extra creepy vibes.

Step 4

Start adding your decor! I had some ornaments, wreath picks, string lights, and a banner (most items from Michael's).

Step 5

Set out surrounding decor to create an even more fun Halloween atmosphere! I added lanterns, pumpkins, and spray painted tombstones (all from Target).

Step 6

Turn the lights on and enjoy! Watching Trick-or-Treaters come up to the house under the arch was so fun!
